For years, I'd been fascinated by the growing sharing economy and how platforms like Depop, eBay, and Vinted transformed the way people shop. I knew South Asian fashion was next. There is a whole generation that wants access without ownership—people who want to experiment with their style, reduce waste, spend smarter, and enjoy fashion more meaningfully. And the deeper I researched South Asian fashion consumption, the clearer it became: we needed a better, more sustainable way to enjoy our wardrobes.

A New Path for South Asian Fashion

Circular South Asian fashion is still in its early days in the UK, even though resale platforms in the West have been thriving for years. ThredUp's industry report predicts that by 2027, the global fashion resale market will double to £2.76bn. And in 2023 alone, the UK imported £631m worth of Pakistani clothing—proof of massive demand, but also massive waste.

Recycling, sharing, and reselling South Asian clothes is still far from mainstream, but that gap also makes space for opportunity. As sustainability becomes a bigger part of everyday conversation, the South Asian community deserves a platform that brings our culture into that future. Tejori is built to lead that shift.
